How do I make sure my run counts?
- Bring your timing chip to the run and tie it to your shoelace.
- Make sure your chip is working BEFORE you start – wave your chip over the mat while no-one else is crossing, and ensure that you hear a beep. If you’re not sure whether it beeped, do it again until you are sure.
- Make sure you complete the run by 1:30pm, before the timing mat is turned off.
- Make sure your chip beeps at the end. If you’re not sure whether it beeped, go back over the mat and make sure.
What do I do if my chip is not working?
Follow the faulty chip procedure: this entails checking that your chip does not work – hold it over the mat and listen for the beep. If it cannot be made to beep, record your details (including run time, if known) on the Faulty Chip sheet on the outside changing room wall and leave your chip in the Faulty Chip container on the table below the sheet.
After the run, notify your team captain so that they can issue you with a replacement chip.
How do I obtain more chips for my team?
Send an email to the Sydney Corporate Cup committee via the “Contact” page on this website specifying how many additional chips you need. A committee member (currently Bruce Robertson) will contact you to arrange. Note that additional chips cost $10 each.
