Series 105 Run 5 – 3 April 2024 – Run No. 629

GENERAL BUSINESS
Congratulations to Jan Swinhoe of Westpac Harriers on becoming the first female to reach the 300 runs milestone in run 5.  Jan started in series 24 and has achieved a PB of 28:45.

SYDNEY CORPORATE CUP POINTSCORE TROPHY
The weather for run 5 was a big improvement over run 4, being comparatively cool and sunny. Turnout was slightly down on the previous run, but total points scored was 2350, the highest of the series, so far.  Six teams broke the 100-point mark, but the top 3 remained unchanged.

RABOBANK KNOCKOUT TROPHY
There was only one high scoring match, where both teams earned over 100 points, this round, with Macquarie Generals beating Deutsche RBC Runners 140-110.  In the other match IAG Road Runners beat Reserve Bank Metric Milers 175-68.

Macquarie Generals will meet IAG Road Runners in the final, while Deutsche RBC Runners and Reserve Bank Metric Milers will play off for third place.

Legal Eagles and Reserve Bank Magic Milers top scored with 6 points and Australian Museum Runosaurs placed third with 4.

Philip CONWAY of IAG Road Runners was again fastest man, with a time of 21.30, while Cathy LIU of Reserve Bank Magic Milers was fastest woman with 25.20. There were 49 fast runners, 36 males (14%) and 13 females (15%).

THE MAT GARROD MEMORIAL TEAM REPRESENTATION TROPHY
Two teams, Domain Dashers and ABS Moving Averages, had the best turnout in run 5 with 13, followed by Australian Museum Runosaurs, Legal Eagles and BT Dominators, all with 12. The total turnout was 344 counting runners, 255 males and 89 females.
