Series #107 – Run 6 – 6 November 2024 – Run No. 642

GENERAL BUSINESS
The presentation for series 107 will be held in the Domain on Wednesday, 20th November, at 12:30pm. Team Captains with trophies from last series should arrange handing back the trophies for engraving and presentation to the series 107 winners.

SYDNEY CORPORATE CUP POINTSCORE TROPHY
The weather was very hot and sunny for the last run of the series and the year. Now is probably a very good time to take a break. Turnout for run 6 was 1 below run 5 and the second lowest of the series. Only three teams broke the 100-point mark, led by Macquarie Generals on 157, Policy on the Run on 147, and Transport Trainers on 100.

Macquarie Generals take out the overall win, up from 3rd place in Series 106, with a margin of 161 points. The total points scored in run 6 was 1637.

RABOBANK KNOCKOUT TROPHY
Policy on the Run, took out the knockout trophy, beating Legal Eagles, 147 – 85. Apra Running Regulators beat Westpac Harriers, 23 – 19 in the playoff for third and fourth places.

FASTEST TEAM COMPETITION
Legal Eagles top scored with 9 points, followed by a tie between Reserve Bank Magic Milers and Australian Museum Runosaurs on 4. Legal Eagles also took out top position for the third series in a row.

Matt GIBSON, of Reserve Bank Magic Milers, was the fastest man with a time of 22.00, and Siobhan ROONEY, of Macquarie Nomads, was fastest woman with 27.05.  There were 32 fast runners in run 6, 28 males (11%) and 4 females (6%).

THE MAT GARROD MEMORIAL TEAM REPRESENTATION TROPHY
Best turnout in run 6 goes to Legal Eagles with a perfect score of 15, followed by Policy on the Run on 14 and BT Dominators on 13. The series title has gone to Legal Eagles with 78 points, out of a possible 90.  The total turnout in run 6 was 333 counting runners, 265 males and 68 females.

GARRY GOULD MEMORIAL TROPHY

The winner of the Garry Gould Memorial Trophy for the top point scorer in series 107 is, once again, Michael COMNINOS of Domain Dashers who scored 141 points.

RON COOMBS MEMORIAL TROPHY

The winner of the Ron Coombs Memorial Trophy for the top point scorer of the opposite sex to the winner of the Garry Gould Memorial Trophy is Kerrie SIMPSON of Commonwealth Bank Harriers 1 with 115 points.

CC AMATIL MOST IMPROVED TEAM

This competition ranks each team’s improvement in three areas over the last two series – point score, team representation and fast runs. As this is an encouragement award for teams who would not otherwise figure in the prize-giving, teams who win one of the other competitions are excluded from winning it.

The Most Improved Team Trophy for series 107 is won by MBA Yield Chasers.
